The Mystery of Salvation (Bob Wriedt)
09.08.24 | What if God revealed everything you wanted to know about the future? Would it make you wiser, or just more confident in your own understanding?
In this week's sermon at Grace, Pastor Bob dives into the complex and often-debated passage of Romans 11:25-36. When Paul writes, "All Israel will be saved" in Romans 11:26, it raises important questions: What does Paul mean by "All"? Who does he refer to as "Israel"? What does it mean to be "saved"? And when will this happen? The answers aren't as straightforward as they might seem, and Christians have interpreted this passage in various ways over the centuries.
Beyond the debates and interpretations, Pastor Bob encourages us to see how this glimpse into God's plan for the future impacted Paul's own heart. As Paul reflects on the mystery and depth of God's wisdom, he's moved to humility and worship, exclaiming, "How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!" (v. 33) and "To him be glory forever. Amen." (v. 36).
Join us as we explore this challenging passage, aiming to be people who approach God's Word with humility and a heart of worship, just as Paul did.
